Stuck in a rut

31 Aug

Do you ever have those times in your life where you feel stuck? Well, I’m there, and I’m not really sure why. I have a good job, a family that loves me and a wonderful boyfriend. But I can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right. Another birthday came and went, and this month passed again in the blink of an eye. Should I be doing more with my life? If so, what?

Lately, these lyrics have been running through my head: Time’s flying by, moving so fast, you better make it count, because you can’t get it back.

I keep thinking about how much time I wasted this summer laying around the house, moping about Sebastian and watching TV. That is certainly no way to live. And while I’m frustrated about the long distance, it’s no reason to stop living the life I have here.

So it’s time to start being more active. It’s time to start setting goals and accomplishing them. My first goal is to get back in shape. I was on my way to success with this one at the beginning of summer. But then I went to Germany, ate a lot of bread, came home, made excuses and never got back on track. To start this change, I’ve decided to run another 5K this October (except this time I’ll actually train for it). It’s small, but it’s something to work toward.

Here’s to a fresh start this fall. Cheers!

One of the greatest gifts we can be given is the gift of recognizing our shortfalls and the courage to adjust to our siwftly changing life’s current. Your blog reflects your gift to correctly adjust course to gain the most advantage of smooth waters and avoid enticing rapids that can conceal lasting concerns. I really think you can adjust your rudder and tackle the 5K with no problem. Go for it kid!! Love Uncle Bob
